What does night vision do to your eyes?

IR (Infrared) Night Vision cameras are equipped with infrared LEDs that illuminate the camera's field of view with light that's invisible to the human eye but detectable by the camera's sensors. 

This allows the camera to capture clear images even in total darkness.

The pupils become larger and the eye lets in more light when it's dark outside. A different, more sensitive kind of cell in the eye — rod cells — collects the light for night vision. 

Night vision is mostly or completely in black and white. Color vision is poor in very low light conditions.
